The other day I was thinking about the most memorable villains from the cartoons and videogames of my childhood, and I decided I would post a list of my favorite ones. So without further ado, I present my top 5 90’s Nickelodeon Villains.
1 - The Silver Monkey from Legends of the Hidden Temple.
For anyone who is familiar with Legends of the Hidden Temple, this choice speaks for itself. The shrine of the silver monkey was where dreams came to die. A simple puzzle consisting of 3 pieces, assembled from base to head, would open a door to the rest of the temple. However, unbeknownst to all but the most senior staff of the diabolical cult of Nickelodeon executives, a hex was cast on the accursed shrine. For all who entered the temple seeking its riches, their cognitive ability of puzzle solving grew inversely proportional to their proximity of the shrine. Clever, ambitious children navigated the temple with ease, but when confronted with the infernal silver monkey, became lost to all reason. The monkey itself is not evil. In fact, the monkey is completely neutral to all the comings and goings of the peculiar creatures crawling through his temple. He simply exists, but through his existence, the veil between hell and earth dissipates, and evil reigns unchecked in the temple.
"Before me things create were none, save things eternal, and eternal I endured. All hope abandon ye who enter here."
